NADA EV EXPO 2022: NADA EV Chautari To Discuss 'EV Business & Financing' Today

The second session of NADA EV Chautari will hold a symposium on 'EV Business & Financing' today.The electrification of public transport is critical for reducing air pollution and fossil fuel consumption. However, the use of EVs as public transport is still lagging behind mainly because of the high cost of electric buses and the lack of suitable financing mechanisms for this sector. Therefore, a need to explore innovative financing mechanisms and business models to encourage more investment in the electrification of public transport.Today's session will explore different financing options that have been utilized abroad for financing public transport and assess their suitability in the Nepalese context.NADA Automobile Association of Nepal (NADA) in association with USAID Clean Air is organizing a series of workshops on issues related to EVs from September 23-25 at the NADA EV Expo 2022. The discourse series titled 'NADA EV Chautari' will provide a platform for policymakers, the private sector and the public to come together, interact on issues of common concern and explore ways to further promote EVs in Nepal. The session will be conducted from 2 pm- 4 pm at the expo venue itself.
